Alsterfors

Alsterfors Glasbruk was a Swedish glassworks located in Småland, active from 1885 to 1980. During its time of operation, the factory produced both utility glass and art glass and became particularly known in the 1960s and 70s for its colorful design glass.
- Per Olof Ström (P O Ström) - the most famous designer at Alsterfors, active in the 1960s and 70s. He created colorful, opal glass vases and bowls in a minimalist design, which made the factory popular during Scandinavian modernism.
- Alsterfors experimented with new glass techniques and often used opal glass and bright colors, giving their products a unique character.
The factory became part of the AB Åfors group (later Kosta Boda) but closed in 1980 due to financial difficulties. Today, Alsterfors glass is sought after on the collectors' market, especially works by P O Ström.
