Sylvia Lechovius

Sylvia Leuchovius (1915-2003) was a Swedish ceramicist and designer who worked at Rörstrand from 1949 onwards. She was particularly known for her artistic expression and worked mainly with unique art objects rather than mass-produced porcelain.

Her work is characterized by soft, organic shapes, relief patterns and often decorative, poetic motifs such as flowers and birds. She also created vases, platters and wall plaques with detailed decoration and pastel-colored glazes. One of her most appreciated works is her hand-decorated plates and bowls with relief patterns and touches of gold. Sylvia's style was both Romantic and Modernist, and her works are sought-after collectors' items today.
