Founded in 1881 in Finland, Iittala Glassworks is known for its timeless and functional designs in glass and porcelain. The glassworks has been a key player in the Nordic design tradition and has collaborated with several prominent designers:
-Alvar Aalto - Created the iconic Aalto vase (Savoy vase) with its organic shapes.
- Kaj Franck - Advocated simplicity and function, known for the Kartio glasses and Teema tableware.
- Tapio Wirkkala - Inspired by nature, designed glasses with elegant and sculptural shapes, such as the Ultima Thule series.
