Uppsala-Ekeby Keramikfabrik, which operated between 1886 and 1980, was one of Sweden's leading manufacturers of art and utility ceramics. During the 20th century, the factory became known for its style-setting designs and collaborations with prominent designers such as Anna-Lisa Thomson, Vicke Lindstrand, Inger Persson and Mari Simmulson. Thomson created the iconic Paprika series, Lindstrand developed innovative sculptural forms, while Persson and Simmulson contributed colorful and modern ceramics. The factory closed in 1980, but its ceramics are still highly valued on the collectors' market.
