Hans Hedberg

Hans Hedberg (1917-2007) was a Swedish ceramicist who achieved international success with his unique and monumental ceramics. He is particularly known for his large fruit sculptures in glazed stoneware, such as apples, pears and lemons, often in strong, bright colors. Hedberg's art combines technical perfection with a playful and powerful expression.

During his career, he worked in Biot in the south of France, where he collaborated with and influenced artists such as Picasso, Chagall and Miró. Hans Hedberg's ceramics are characterized by a strong presence, sculptural form and a deep understanding of the possibilities of glaze. His work has an obvious place in the history of modern ceramics and is highly valued internationally.
