Timo Sarpaneva

Timo Sarpaneva was a pioneering Finnish designer and artist, closely associated with Iittala Glassworks, where from the 1950s to the 1980s he created some of the most iconic works of Nordic glass art. Combining artistic vision with technical innovation, he helped put Iittala on the international design map.

His work is characterized by sculptural forms, crystal clear surfaces and experimental techniques. His most famous creations include the award-winning *i line*, the Orkidea vase and art glass with raw, organic structures that broke with traditional glass norms.

Timo Sarpaneva's designs for Iittala stand as a symbol of timeless Finnish modernism and are today highly sought after in both art glass and functional design worldwide.
