Gefle

Gefle Porcelain Factory
was a Swedish porcelain manufacturer operating between 1910 and 1979 in Gävle. The factory became known for its high-quality porcelain and art ceramics and was one of Sweden's leading porcelain manufacturers in the 20th century. In the 1920s, Gefle Porslinsfabrik began collaborating with prominent designers, which gave the factory a strong artistic profile. Some of the most significant designers were:
- Arthur Percy (artistic director 1923-1958), who modernized the range with elegant shapes and colorful glazes.
- Lillemor Mannerheim, who created tableware and decor inspired by nature and modernism.
Gefle produced several iconic tableware pieces, including:
- "Rubin" - a stylish dinner service in deep red glaze.
- "Vinranka" - an elegant dinner service with relief decoration.
- 'Cosmos' - a popular 1960s dinner service in blue-brown tones.
The factory was bought by Upsala-Ekeby in 1935 and continued production until 1979, when it was closed down. Today, Gefles porcelain is highly sought after by collectors.
