Orrefors Glasbruk, founded in 1898 in Småland, was one of Sweden's leading producers of art and utility glass. During the 20th century, Orrefors became internationally known for its elegant and innovative glass art, thanks to prominent designers such as Simon Gate, Edward Hald, Vicke Lindstrand and Gunnar Cyrén, Gate and Hald introduced the famous grail technique, Lindstrand developed modernist and sculptural forms, while Cyrén created both classic tableware glass and innovative art glass. Production at Orrefors was discontinued in 2013, but the brand lives on in the Swedish glass tradition.
