Saara Hopea

Hilkka Saara Hopea (1925-1984) was a Finnish designer known for her work in both ceramics and glass. She trained at the Central School of Art and Design in Helsinki and began her career at Arabia, where she created stylish and functional ceramic objects with simple but elegant designs.

Hopea also worked in glass design at Nuutajärvi Glassworks, where she designed drinking glasses and bowls in a minimalist and timeless style. She was part of the modernist movement in Finnish design and worked closely with other prominent designers such as Kaj Franck.

Her works are sought after today on the collectors' market, especially her glassware and her stylish ceramic products from Arabia.
