Arabia Ceramics – Finnish Design Classic
Arabia is a Finnish ceramics factory founded in 1873 in Helsinki. The company became known for its high-quality porcelain manufacturing and iconic designs, especially in the 20th century. Arabia was a pioneer in Nordic design, combining functionality with aesthetics.
Among the most prominent artists who worked for Arabia are:
- Kaj Franck- known for his minimalist and functional tableware, such as "Kilta".
- Birger Kaipiainen - created imaginative and decorative patterns, such as "Paratiisi".
- Ulla Procopé - designed popular series such as 'Ruska' and 'Valencia'.
- Esteri Tomula - illustrated porcelain with detailed floral patterns, such as 'Pastoraali'.
Arabia is now part of Fiskars Group and its designs are still sought after.
