Wilhelm Kåge

Vilhelm Kåge (1889-1960) was a Swedish designer and ceramicist, best known for his work at the Gustavsberg porcelain factory. He started as a visual artist but switched to ceramics and became artistic director at Gustavsberg in 1917. Kåge created both utility and art ceramics, often with functional and stylish designs. Among his best-known works are the *Lily Blue* tableware, the simple and durable *Pyro* series, and the innovative *Argenta* series, characterized by green-glazed ceramics with silver decorations. His work laid the foundation for modern Swedish ceramics and inspired subsequent designers.
