Noomi Backhausen

Noomi Backhausen was a Danish designer and ceramicist who worked at Søholm Keramik on Bornholm during the 1960s and 70s. She is known for her colorful, graphic patterns and creative decors that left a clear mark on Danish ceramic design during the period.

Backhausen's works for Søholm include vases, dishes, lamp bases and wall plates, often decorated with stylized motifs in strong colours and contrasts. Her designs are characterized by playfulness, hand-painted feel and a clear 60s aesthetic.
