Nittsjö

Nittsjö Keramik, one of Sweden's oldest ceramics factories, was founded in Nittsjö, Dalarna, in the 1840s. Initially, it produced simple utilitarian earthenware objects, but in the 20th century production expanded to include art and decorative ceramics.

During the 20th century, several well-known designers were associated with Nittsjö, including:
- Ejvind Nielsen, who contributed with stylish and rustic shapes.
- Thomas Hellström, known for his decorative animal figures and stylized patterns.

Nittsjö is particularly known for:
- Traditional Dalecarlia pottery with hand-painted decoration.
- Utility items such as pots, bowls and jugs in natural colors.
- Decorative figures such as animals and gnomes, popular collectibles.

Unlike many other Swedish ceramics factories, Nittsjö is still in operation and continues to produce handmade ceramics with roots in Swedish tradition.
