Dorothy Clough (1920-2013) was a British-Swedish ceramicist who worked at Upsala-Ekeby from the late 1950s to the 1970s. She is known for her rustic and modern ceramics, often with simple, stylish forms and tactile surfaces.
Her work is characterized by rough chamotte (sand-mixed) surfaces, earthy glazes and sculptural expressions. She created vases, platters and figurines with a raw and natural feel. One of her most famous works is the "Rusticana" series, which reflects her interest in robust materials and simple, harmonious forms.
Dorothy Clough's ceramics are sought after today on the antique and collectors' market thanks to their unique texture and timeless design.
