Lars Bergsten

Lars Bergsten (1920-2011) was a Swedish ceramicist educated at Konstfack. He started his own ceramic workshop in Stockholm in the 1940s and later worked in Torshälla, Frösunda and Strängnäs. In the 1970s he freelanced for Upsala-Ekeby, where he created a series of ceramic tiles with the twelve zodiac signs, called *Zodiacs*. These were sold through Svenska Hantverkskedjan and Nordiska Hantverkskedjan and were available in both brown and gray color scale. His production included both utilitarian wares and sculptures, often with figurative motifs, such as the pair of ceramic figures documented in his collections.
