EGO ceramics

Ego Stengods was a Swedish ceramics workshop operating in Lidköping from 1966 to 1988. The company was founded by Willi Fischer and Gösta Olofsson, where Fischer was responsible for design and production, while Olofsson handled sales. The production mainly consisted of lamp bases, candle holders, vases and animal figures in stoneware.

Among the ceramists who worked at Ego Stengods are Tyra Lundgren and Willi Fischer. Bruno Karlsson, who had previously worked at Rörstrand and Syco Keramik, joined the workshop in 1973 and contributed his expertise in turning and design.

Ego Stengods is known for its robust and decorative stoneware products, including vases, bowls, candlesticks and sculptures. Willi Fischer's stoneware figurines and wall plaques with animal motifs, such as birds, which combine rustic and decorative elements, are particularly noteworthy.

Today, Ego Stoneware is sought after on the secondary market, where works by designers such as Willi Fischer and Bruno Karlsson often appear at auctions and in antique shops.
