Karin Björquist

Karin Björquist was a prominent Swedish ceramist and designer who worked at Gustavsberg's porcelain factory from the 1950s onwards. She is known for her timeless design language, her high quality of craftsmanship and her ability to combine function with stylish aesthetics.

Björquist's work for Gustavsberg includes both utility porcelain and unique art objects. She designed the classic Nobel dinner service for the Nobel banquet, as well as stylish everyday tableware such as Blå Rand. Her designs are characterized by simplicity, balance and a clear Nordic sense of form.
