Bertil Vallien

Bertil Vallien (born 1938) is a Swedish glass artist and designer, known for his unique sand-cast glass works. Working mainly for Kosta Boda and Strömberghyttan, he has created iconic sculptures, often in the form of boats and faces, with a mystical and poetic aesthetic. His works are characterized by deep blue tones, symbolism and a sense of timelessness. Vallien is internationally recognized and has had exhibitions worldwide.
