Mari Simmulson was a Swedish-Estonian ceramicist and designer who worked briefly at Arabia in Finland before becoming one of the best-known artists at Upsala-Ekeby in Sweden. Her art is characterized by expressive forms, strong colors and decorative patterns with influences from both Nordic and Eastern European folk style.
At Arabia she worked mainly with art ceramics, where she developed her personal design language. Her works are often figurative, with motifs such as women, animals and nature, creating a unique and vibrant expression.
